On the social level, 12-Step
meetings and the like will always be
the mainstay of many peoples’
recoveries. But more contemplative
methods relating to self-inquiry,
mindfulness and meditation can
supplement these efforts, setting
you on a path to greater self-control
and happiness.
You will understand mindfulness
and other thecniques thoroughly
and begin applying them to
yourself… leading to a greater
awareness than ever before of 1)
your destructive patterns of
thinking and behavior, 2) the
situations that seem to cause them,
3) the subconscious deficits and
vulnerabilities that make you
susceptible to them, and 4) the
means to gradually eliminate them.
